Lumion Rendering: EXP 3

Draft 1

Above is the first draft of the building. The idea is heavily based off of Zaha Hadid's Vitra Fire Station. The sharp angles seemed like an excelent way to ecourage movement in specific directions, while being able to blend functionalities in the form (i.e. a roof that functions simultneously as wall, due to a sharp tilt).

Draft 2

In the second draft, the sharp angles are blended into the original pedestrian circulation shape, but the form is gorunded. The two long platforms and central staff void are developed. More traditional rectilinear shapes are integrated into the aesthetic, allowing for pavillion-style spaces.

Tutorial Spaces are open plan, an example of a class being conducted alongside pedestrian circulation

The ground-level pavillion; on the left, students make their way to the elevator ring
The lecture theatre, I wanted to reimagine the historical structure of a forum, and be able to integrate vertical and multi-level movement.
The gardens sit atop the building, where the most sunlight will hit. There are deliberate lines made by the chair structures on the left side, shaping movement behind, while orientating user towards a lookout on the sloped side.

Academic research space, a multi-level centre of desks and rendering equipment, non-anguar rectilinear stairs are used here to conform to a industrial theme, as do the concrete platforms.

The library; offset computer desks and study booths integrate computer labs and electronic learning into a cohesive space, water runs above, diffracting noise from the above tutorial and meeting areas.
The upper tutorial pavillion. To the left is the gallery, numerous display shapes ideally emphasise a diverse range of projects and ideas.

A hero shot, contextualising the structure.
