Exp 2: Concepts

Concept 2: Servo Stockholm/ LAX

Bioimicry: Cytoskeleton

Servo tends towards organic shapes and volumes, occasionally they go so far as to mimic biological structure or ingenuity in order to strenghten a project or its function. Such as the conch shell shape above being used to amplify moisture content within itself to sustain plant growth.

In my model I decided to use the idea of a cytoskeleton to situate the stop in its environment.
A cytoskeleton is the tubes within an organic cell that provide structural support, and are used as rails, along which proteins and organelles travel. The above image is an early draft of the curvilinear shape that became the 'cytoskeleton' of my project.
